Year in Review 2015

November 7, 2015: This has been an exciting and historical year for inWEM. We have been blessed with a few events that are leading us into the next year:

  • LLC initiative, led by Ms. Kay Goss, Past 1st Vice-President and Advisor
  • Incorporation initiative, led by many others over the past 6 years, culminating in our actual incorporation, which was led by Ms. Blythe Joy Patenaude, Secretary and Treasurer. Ms. Patenaude funded the incorporation/office establishment fees and Dr. Jacqueline McBride, Love, Peace and Prosperity International, Inc., made a $600.00 donation to inWEM to cover the expenses.
    • $270 for State, $400 for IRS, $183.60 for PO Box (Credit of $324.45 J sent check in January) total owe $529.15 to Blythe
  • Hall of Fame initiative, led by Ms. Tyra Gore, CEM, Hall of Fame Committee Chairperson and 1st Vice President and supported by Brenda, Rebecca, Carol, Blythe, Pamela, Elizabeth, Margaret, and Jacqueline.
  • Membership and Marketing Committee led by Ms. Tyra Gore, CEM 1st Vice President and supported by Chauncia Willis, Pamela L’Heureux, CEM 2nd Vice President; Ms. Blythe Joy Patenaude, Secretary and Treasurer.
    • We will inaugurate our membership packet and brochure in November 2015.
  • Partnership Building with:
    • Safe America Outreach, led by Ms. Blythe Joy Patenaude, Secretary and Treasurer
    • “Enhancing Disaster Survivability of Diverse Populations” Valuing Diversity Conference, Frederick Community College, Presenter: Dr. Jacqueline McBride, Founder and President of inWEM
    • Public Leadership Education Network (PLEN), an affiliated organization of inWEM, led by Dr. Jacqueline McBride. Ms. Elizabeth A. Zimmerman represented inWEM at their annual Women & Policy in the Global Community Seminar. Ms. Zimmerman is Associate Administrator for the Office of Response & Recovery (ORR), Federal Emergency Management Agency
    • Emergency Management Institute, led by Dr. Jacqueline McBride
    • Weather-Ready Nation Ambassadors, led by Dr. Jacqueline McBride
  • Website successfully managed by Carol Dunn
  • Outreach Commitments by 2014 Hall of Fame Inductees
    • Report will be delivered during the Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and annual meeting
  • Dr. McBride continued to develop of the virtual, Center for Women’s Leadership

Your continued support, and donations, in 2016 is needed and supported. We are currently seeking nominations and volunteers for the following committees: Hall of Fame, International Women’s Day Celebration, Center for Women’s Leadership, Public/External Affairs Relations, Membership and Marketing, and Finance.

The International Network of Women in Emergency Management (inWEM) will induct six amazing women into the 2015 International Women in Homeland Security and Emergency Management Hall of Fame at the 5th Annual Gala Reception and Induction Ceremony, Saturday, November 14, 2015, during the IAEM-USA 63nd Annual Conference & EMEX at the Paris Hotel, Clark County, NV.

 

Our Inaugural, Incorporation’s Annual Meeting will be held on Sunday, November 15, 2015, 12:15 pm to 1:15 pm; during the IAEM-USA 63nd Annual Conference & EMEX at the Paris

Hotel, Clark County, NV, Versailles Ballroom 4.

 

2016

2016 International Women in Homeland Security and Emergency Management Hall of Fame at the 6th Annual Gala Reception and Induction Ceremony, Saturday, October 15, 2016, during the IAEM-USA 64th Annual Conference & EMEX at the (TBD) Hotel, Savannah, Georgia, Room (TBD).
